The smali tv series is one of the most loved and well-known Indian reality shows. It has been around for almost two decades now, but it remains an essential part of Indian television culture. You see, based on the premise that a family can only succeed if all members take part in their respective activities, smali TV shows are about creating a sense of community through shared successes. The roles that each member plays also have affective effects on others in the family and society at large. Wrongness is minimized and magnified by having everyone share in the outcome! So what better way to tackle this than with a family project? And not just any project, but a family project?! This means that we don’t just have to think about what activities each member will participate in but also how much time will be spent on them. What projects would you create with your kids? Let’s look at some ideas…
What to do with your child’s time
There are some things that you shouldn’t do with a child’s time. Games, for example, are not to be done at every opportunity. In fact, Games should only be done when a child is very little. You should focus on activities that will help your child grow: learning, building languages, building tools, and being creative. What projects your child could get involved in would also help him progress: his first step in taking part in a project would be to indicate which projects he wants to try. This is especially important if the project is related to art, food, or sports. You don’t have to decide what project your child wants to try but rather allow him to select from a menu of topics.
Why games are the future
There is a reason why games are very popular among kids today: they are stress-free and provide a good outlet for negative emotions. Games, of course, can be used for any purpose, but they are particularly useful when a child is eager to share, building confidence, and/or has a problem that he wants to solve.
Read/Write/Think/Do
Books are a wonderful way to pass the time while your child is developing his thinking skills. Reading can also be done during the day, and is especially useful for kids under the age of five. So, why not start reading when your child is young? There are a number of books for kids to choose from, including books with reading topics. You can also create a reader club, which is the perfect way to connect with other parents and your child.
Help a friend
If you are going to be at work for long hours and have a young child, it would be helpful to have a job buddy who can help out with assignments and help out with self-compassion. This can be a person in your family who is close by, or someone who you know you can trust with important questions or concerns.
Celebrate each other’s achievements
When your child is old enough to join in, he is also old enough to celebrate his and others’ achievements. One way to mark this, and also celebrate the milestones in your life, is by creating a family project. Whether you choose to create a project with your child, your spouse, or a colleague, the idea is to celebrate together with the family. You can choose from a menu of activities, or you can create a family project and collaborate on what we think should be done together.
Take a break after work
The after work unplugged is one of the most popular post-work activities in India. You could choose to spend the day at home or you could take a quick vacation after work. Some people choose to take a quick vacation during their working hours while others take a short break while working. It all comes back to how much time is left in the day.
Don’t forget to say hi
The hubris of youth is challenged by the simple thought: we should be doing something constructive with our time. Unfortunately, this poses a challenge for parents who are too busy celebrating the milestones in their child’s life: he should be doing something constructive with his time because he is not yet old enough to form thoughts of his own. Before he is old enough to speak, he vows to his friends: I’m going to do this thing I’m going to do thing for this reason because he should be doing something constructive with his time.
